DATE FOR BLOG-A-TON 17 :  DECEMBER 4, 2010
TOPIC DECLARATIONNOVEMBER 27, 2010

Hello friends, welcome to the Seventeenth edition of Blog-a-Ton. Lets start this new edition with a hope that the downward trend in the recent editions will be reversed this time.

This month too we have some new friends who will help us in fulfilling this hope. Lets welcome them before proceeding further
  • Anoop Remesan (Please provide a bloglink to stay in touch)
  • Harikrishna (Please provide a bloglink to stay in touch)
Looking forward to your participation in this new edition of Blog-a-Ton!!!

Please go through the following rules before suggesting or voting
  • Each member can suggest only one topic.
  • The topic should be general in scope, so that more and more Blog-a-Tonics can participate.
  • If you like any suggestion, VOTE for it rather than giving a new suggestion.
  • If you like a suggested topic but don't like the wordings, still VOTE for it and alongside suggest a new title for it.
  • In case you have already suggested a topic but find some subsequent suggestion better than yours, you are allowed to vote for it. But this can be done only once.
  • Rather than criticising the suggestions made by others, kindly give better suggestions.
  • Give your suggestions and votes in the comments section of this post.
  • Do not embolden your comment using HTML bold tag.
  • Please keep these points in mind to make my job easier.
P.S. I retain the right to discard any suggestion in case I find it similar to some previous Topic of the Month or too narrow in scope.

Encourage your fellow bloggers to participate in this edition. You can share this post on your various social networking profiles through the ShareThis widget present at the bottom of this post.

Hoping to receive many inspiring suggestions

  1. I suggest MYSTERY as the theme for BAT17 :)

  2. Leo and others, remember, we need a Topic and not a theme.. Mystery makes it too narrow. Please suggest an appealing Topic which can inspire one to write in varied genres.

  3. umm, I'm surprised to hear that Mystery is narrow for scope.. even as a topic, it'd be lovely for poetry n all genres...

but if its rejected, I'll back some other topic later. Is that fine, Vips?

  7. I don't think Mystery is a narrow topic Marsh, it has vast scope. Don't think of only Mystery stories....

It could be Mysteries of Life, Mysteries of Ancient History, Unexplored Mysteries, Mysteries of Science, Mysteries of the Universe, Mysteries of the Human Mind, Mysterious Lands, Mysteries of Art, Mysteries of Culture, Mysteries of Love and also Mysteries that the Seasons hold or Climate Change. It can be a mystery of any unknown entity which is intriguing to man. People can take so many varied concepts on this prompt.

So (obviously) my vote is for "Mystery" and the variety it provides. :)

@Leo.. dude by genres i didnt mean poetry, short stories etc, bt the theme, i.e. mystery, horror, humour, drama, etc.. In any case Rumya defended it nicely :)

  12. Absolutely brilliant team work there Leo and Rumya..;)
Mysterious it is, this unison!!!! :P
May I join you with my vote for MYSTERY??

  13. @Vibzz: LOL :D There is no "mysterious unison" here. I wrote exactly what I felt and tried to emphatically put my point across to the Marshal. Think it worked right?? ;)

@Marshal: Glad you got my point. :) There are plenty more mysteries I can think of but I'll let your BAT-ters explore its various possibilities. Besides, I have given enough and more stimulants up there. I'm pretty sure that you will not be bored and get varied takes on MYSTERY. ;)

Let the most popular topic win!! :D

  14. Agreed, "Mystery" isnt narrow, but Alston Station: already gave an insight into how much mysteries bloggers can churn up.

    I vote for WINTER.

  15. Considering the overwhelming and rather animated support for "Mystery" as a topic, i guess the topic for the forthcoming edition is more or less decided.
May i, however, suggest that it be renamed "THE Mystery" to allow for some plausible rumination and interpretation?
Coz i agree with Vipul that Mystery by itself sounds more like a genre than a topic.

  16. given dat in batom 15- d one with the picture, most ppl did giv a mystery take to it, n m still not over dat, i vote for winter :-)

  17. i suggest love and life. that suggest a brand topic for all the youngsters and there would be some experience for every person in their whole life and more over it is a universal topic

  18. It is quite evident that the upcoming posts for BATOM 17 will be based on either 'Mystery' or 'The Mystery'. I do agree with Sadiya that we already read quite a lot about the wonderful and mysterious imaginations , just to add a new color and texture to it, I suggest the word 'Enigma'. Hope it will bring a somewhat different flavor to a similar theme.

  19. I vote for Mystery... and not "The Mystery"

  20. @Cherry Blossom.. Enigma.. Aaahhh.. evn i thought of the same wn read Mystery :)

@Viyoma and Sadiya.. Even I had the similar apprehensions.. There was too much over-dose of mystery in BAT 15..

@Brijender.. Yup, The Mystery sounds more appealing :)

  21. Enigma which is a subtle term for "mystery"
