Blog–a–Ton!

OMG! Blog-a-Ton is aging three now! Wow! Exciting!

........the journey:
On 5th July 2009, Blog-a-Ton was born, a misnomer of the word Blogathon and on 1st August 2009, our first edition was hosted by our Marshal Vipul Grover and after 17 editions, he willingly took a break. Our Ravan and few others hosted initially, later Leo and I took the responsibility on our shoulders to march forward and to achieve our dream! The dream is having 100 entrants in a single edition!

Can we make it possible in this edition? Can we read 100 entrants this time? I agree, we are not giving away any prizes or gift vouchers but we are giving a Golden platform; a platform preferred by passionate writers!

Some of our BATOM’s are now published authors and they have proudly said that Blog-a-Ton helped them a lot! Some write because of BAT, some breathe for BAT, and that’s what Blog-a-Ton is!

I love numbers and I’ve been known to cherish stats a lot. So far, in 29 Editions, we have read 1118 Official Entries; that’s an average of 39 Entries. We have 36 GOLD BATOMS, 19 SILVER BATOMS, 11 BRONZE BATOMS and many more to come. Our Official Followers count is heading towards the magical four-digit number and we are more than five hundred member family on Facebook!

I love to share more - Brijender Singh of Brijender(in a row) and Leo of I Rhyme Without Reason has won Three GOLD BATOM, Leo of I Rhyme Without Reason has won Three SILVER BATOM and Shilpa Nair of Servings of Mania has won Two Bronze BATOM, the most number of wins under the respective categories and In overall, Leo of I Rhyme Without Reason has won SIX BATOM in total! Blog-a-Ton 29 Results - Two Minutes of Fame? :)

I first take two minutes to thank every one who participated in BAT29. It's a pleasure to have you here. Of the 28 who participated, 21 returned to vote, and 19 of the votes were counted. From the voting code of Sandy and Manasa, I couldn't decipher who their votes fell to, hence these two votes weren't counted. Again, we've had a tie for bronze, requiring me to vote to break it. It shows the quality of entries here I feel.
