Vote for BATOM 7..

Voting is over. Rashi is the BATOM 7!

Let us welcome the new Blog-a-Tonics -
  • Navi
  • Naveen
  • John
  • Varsha
  • The New Cloud
  • Vivek
  • Arun (Please provide a bloglink to be blogrolled).
You all will be blogrolled soon.

Click here to check the fellow Blog-a-Tonics who took part in this Blog-a-Ton along with the direct links to their posts.

In this edition, 45 entries came in from 43 blog-a-tonics within the stipulated time.

Please follow the following rules while voting:

1. You must cast only 1 vote and of course you can not vote for yourself.
Don't vote for more than one person because that will be of no use for any of them as your vote will be discarded without any prior warning.

2. Your Voting Comment should start as follows:

In case you participated -

I vote for - XYZ; his/her post = http://ABC/xyz.html

Code:
<b>I participated - <a href="YOUR POST LINK">YOUR POST LINK</a></b>
<b>I vote for - NAME OF THE BLOGATONIC YOU VOTE FOR; his/her postlink = <a href="HIS/HER POST LINK">HIS/HER POST LINK</a></b>

In case you did not participate -

I did not participate but I am blogrolled by the name of Vipul Grover.
I vote for - XYZ; his/her post = http://ABC/xyz.html

Code:
<b>I did not participate but I am blogrolled by the name of YOUR NAME ON OUR BLOGROLL. </b>
<b>I vote for - NAME OF THE BLOGATONIC YOU VOTE FOR; his/her postlink = <a href="HIS/HER POST LINK">HIS/HER POST LINK</a></b>

Replace the parameters highlighted in red with their actual values.

Remember, in case you participated, your vote will be counted as 1 and in case you didn't, then it will just carry the 1/2 value.

Hence, do not forget to give your post link or blogrolled name (whichever is applicable as clearly visible in the above code) as it will decide whether your vote is counted as 1 or 1/2 in value.

3. DO NOT VOTE for those posts, links to which have been posted after the stipulated time.
As per the rules, Archana(Yemiledu) is the last participant eligible for voting.
Any entries after her should not be voted for.

Now coming to the other rules:
  • Voting ends at  2200 hrs (IST) on  Feb 12, 2010.
  • Post your vote in the comments section of this post.
  • I have started moderating the comments and won’t display the voting comments till the end of this process to keep the result secret till its conclusion.
  • After the voting code mentioned above, you may also add the reason, why you voted for a particular post to help others know what you expect as a reader. Moreover, you may also mention the other posts that you liked though you can vote for just one of them.
  • In case there are multiple entries from any Blogger, while counting the votes received by him/her, the entries will be considered individually for the award.
The Votes will be discarded without any prior warning in case they are not sufficiently compatible with the rules.

So, if there is any query about voting or you do not find yourself blogrolled, feel free to drop in a mail at 'Contact The Marshal'. I'll try to get back to you asap.
Hoping to see more enthusiasm while voting
Blog-a-Tonically Yours

  4. I participated - http://www.varunreddylive.com/2010/02/what-if.html

    I vote for - MADHU RAO | (INDImag.COM); his/her postlink = http://www.indimag.com/2010/02/06/what-if/

I voted for Madhu because the situation addressed (9/11) was something I could have never thought of, had a good storyline, and was partly based on real-life experiences of the author. It wasn't completely fiction and could have happened to someone in reality.

I also liked the following posts:

    1. Rashi: http://psychedchick.wordpress.com/2010/02/06/what-if/ addressed a serious problem whose awareness is very much needed...

    2. Karthik: http://unalloyedwritingpleasure.blogspot.com/2010/02/what-if.html captivated me with his storyline, which seemed like a Hollywood Thriller! Just that it was a bit long for me to digest, that's all :)

    3. Sureindran: http://sureindran.blogspot.com/2010/02/what-if.html was beautifully written, although I could not relate to it because of personal reasons.

Hope one of them wins :) Was fun reading all posts.

  16. Sorry, I am not voting AGAIN! I am traveling for the next 10 days and won't have internet access, so can't read the posts. Have read only 4-5 posts so far, based on that voting would not be right. May be next time, I will have enough time to read and participate in real sense.

  18. Thank you Vipul, I appreciate your effort in organising this blog-a-ton,,its quite an effort...I participated - my post link
I vote for - Madhu; his/her postlink = His post link

Making a fiction out of real stories, which actually makes you believe that the protagonist was present there, experiencing the situation, is what writing is all about and Madhu excels in this….hence this vote….

  23. Hi Sravana, have you made an effort to read the rules?

Only blog-a-tonics are allowed to vote, the ones who have been blogrolled.

Why are all your votes coming in from non-blogatonics?

And why is it that all those who vote for you keep a hidden profile?

Why is it so that people who are so impressed with your write up and vote for you, didn't care to comment on your post?

See, buddy, I am handling this event single handedly and it really annoys me when people make my job tougher.

  24. If you had just made an effort to read the rules, you would have been saved from making this blunder.

  26. Hi Vipul,

I dint read the rules for voting and moreover i dunno why votes comes from HIDDEN PROFILE as you said. Am not responsible for those who votes for me or anyone, if there is any thing wrong in my side i can help, but this is not in my hand. And after posting here am getting calls to my mobile too, i dunno how this is also happening?. When i checked the above votes profiles only one has commented me and i cant ask them why you voted for me or why dint comment for me? Its all depends upon their wish. Sorry man i can't help you in this regard :-(

    Yours Frendly,

My first Blog-a-ton and I got to read some awesome posts! It was difficult to put in my choice, to narrow it down to one. I had to vote for someone, so I did it to Annyesha, it could as well have been any one of Madhu Rao, Nethra, Karthik, Debosmita, Shahid, Sidoscope, Raksha Raman or Aativas for their short stories.
I am glad to have come across other great blogs too with creative takes on the words "what if" like psych babbler, shilpa garg, varun reddy.......phew the list isn't ending at all........let me stop here for this time!

    All the best guys!!

  29. @S-I-S..Whatever happened has happened.. The motive of Blog-a-Ton is not getting votes but getting readership. As long as you have succeeded it that, nothing else should matter.

  30. What made me to vote for the post of 'Rashi ' is its " impact, pragmatic relevance, validity, justification , comprehensiveness, totality, voice of concern and social appeal with respect to the title 'what if'. It is simple, straight and honest in its intention and expression .
.... the post is quite balanced, both emotionally and rationally. The objectivity in narration did impress me.

The most closed contenders are (not necessarily in the order). i could have voted for all the 3 provided a voting choice :)

1.Babbler .... superb take on male hypocrisy
2.West Wind ......sophisticated narration and queer expression.... read it many times and will read it again
    3. Blabber blah .... loved it....loved it...... loved it.....

The other posts i have considered for voting
1.Debosmita ..... stupendous screenplay and emotional intelligence
2.Tanmaya ..... it did inspire me to take certain things in a new perspective)
    3.Govind ... honest
    4.Jr .... uniqueness
    5.shahid ....

    PS :
    1. I do appreciate Debosmita for suggesting the title "what if .."
    2. I thank Vipul for providing the platform to smell and taste various flavours and diversified aromas . :)
