Its time to find the BATOM 5 :)

Voting is over. Kindly wait for the results!

It seems Blog-a-Ton is stuck somewhere. Third time is a row, we have got just around 40 entries. However, having read some of them, one thing is assured that the quality of entries is going up, the quantity might be stuck!

On this good note, let us welcome the new Blog-a-Tonics first of all -
You all will be blogrolled soon.

Click here to check the fellow Blog-a-Tonics who took part in this Blog-a-Ton along with the direct links to their posts.

In short, 37 entries came in so far. If there is anyone else who was unable to post in time due to any genuine reason, please convey it to me at 'Contact The Marshal' along with the link to your post.

Please follow the following rules while voting:

1. You must cast only 1 vote and of course you can not vote for yourself.
Don't vote for more than one person because that will be of no use for any of them as your vote will be discarded without any prior warning.

2. Your Voting Comment should start as follows:

In case you participated -

I vote for - XYZ; his/her postlink = http://ABC.com/pqrst.html

Code:
<b>I participated - <a href="YOUR POST LINK">YOUR POST LINK</a></b>
<b>I vote for - NAME OF THE BLOGATONIC YOU VOTE FOR; his/her postlink = <a href="HIS/HER POST LINK">HIS/HER POST LINK</a></b>

In case you did not participate -

I did not participate but I am blogrolled by the name of Vipul Grover.

I vote for - XYZ; his/her postlink = http://ABC.com/pqrst.html

Code:
<b>I did not participate but I am blogrolled by the name of YOUR NAME ON OUR BLOGROLL. </b>
<b>I vote for - NAME OF THE BLOGATONIC YOU VOTE FOR; his/her postlink = <a href="HIS/HER POST LINK">HIS/HER POST LINK</a></b>

Replace the parameters highlighted in red with their actual values.

Remember, in case you participated, your vote will be counted as 1 and in case you didn't, then it will just carry the 1/2 value.

Hence, do not forget to give your post link or blogrolled name (whichever is applicable as clearly visible in the above code) as it will decide whether your vote is counted as 1 or 1/2 in value.

3. Vote for only those entries which are listed here. If there are any late entries which are allowed to participate, they will be posted there as well.

Now coming to the other rules:
  • Voting ends at 2300 hrs (IST) on  Dec 10, 2009.
  • Post your vote in the comments section of this post.
  • I have started moderating the comments and won’t display the voting comments till the end of this process to keep the result secret till its conclusion.
  • After the voting code mentioned above, you may also add the reason, why you voted for a particular post to help others know what you expect as a reader. Moreover, you may also mention the other posts that you liked though you can vote for just one of them.
  • In case there are multiple entries from any Blogger, while counting the votes received by him/her, the entries will be considered individually for the award.
The Votes will be discarded without any prior warning in case they are not sufficiently compatible with the rules.

So, if there is any query about voting or you do not find yourself blogrolled, feel free to drop in a mail at 'Contact The Marshal'. I'll try to get back to you asap.

Hoping to see dozens of votes this time
Blog-a-Tonically Yours

  5. I am in the midst of a very busy schedule.. most probably will not be able to read all the posts. I will have connectivity, but no time to read, which is very unfortunate. I may read 5-6 posts, but based on that, I cannot vote! Sorry, friends. But life has to go without blog sometime :)

I vote for - Psych Babbler; her post link = http://www.overacuppacoffee.com/2009/12/all-in-days-work.html

It was a tough call for me to decide but since one has to cast a vote, after much reflection I chose the above contestant. The vote goes to her coz she's doing her bit everyday in the real world in the service of others in lesser health than any of us.

The other very strong contenders in my list were Madhu, Aneet, Pawan and Saurabh. However...for better or for worse my vote lies with Psych Babbler.

In conclusion, it isn't as if the others are less. But always when one reads people, there are few who stay in your mind more than the others. So it was with these posts too.

So here's wishing luck to all the other participants too!

  14. I participated - MY POST LINK

I vote for - PSYCH BABBLER = HER POST LINK

I loved her posts, as for her post flow was full of enthusiasm of interest and intellectually learning. It was not a hypothetical or an imaginative zest. But the post actually presented in a very remarkable way to put some light on the serious issue related to the children, which we often ignore in our daily life. And as she says that she made a difference in one kid’s life, I believe who ever read her post, must have pondered over the issue and made a difference in their conversation with kids! Perhaps, the education enlightened many lives through her post. Cheers to her spirits! So I cast my vote for her Post!

However, it was very difficult and completely unfair to make only one choice to vote, I also loved the short fictions written by Madhu, a sensible 99fiction of Mahesh, philosophical flash from The West Wind, are some among the list of my favorites.

Indeed, Vipul, it is a great platform to work over our best creativity and come across the finest talents of participates. I want to wish everyone all the best, and convey my hearty regards for all who wished my friend with best wishes and prayer in my post. This is something I shall never forget and cherish forever!! Thank you so much!

    Keep the spark Alive..

    I vote for - Preeti ; his/her postlink is http://preetireviews.blogspot.com/2009/12/all-in-days-work.html

I decided to vote for this post because the idea was very unique and I loved the ending when the ten rupees note lands at Lord Ram's feet.
A very close competition in my opinion was the post by Dil On The Rocks. It was also an amazing post with a very good vision. I liked it very much as well. I had a tough time deciding between the two. If given an opportunity to vote for two posts, I would have selected these two.
All of the posts were very nice, all of them cast different lights on the same topic. It was a great experience going through them. The posts by Pawan and Madhu were also very touching.

    I vote for - Harsha Chittar; his/her postlink = http://ithinkiknowbut.blogspot.com/2009/12/all-in-days-work.html

Loved the simple and lucid flow peppered liberally with sarcastic humor. "..i think simple is my middle name now .." he said in his reply to me and I couldn't agree more. Just want to add, per me, simple is good :-)

Guria's first 3 paras haunted me. Can that girl write !

Dhiman's post was very good and touching..

I will be tied up in 2 hour meeting at the time of the results tomorrow, so congrats to the winner in advance !

I vote for - Madhu Rao; his postlink = http://www.indimag.com/2009/12/04/all-in-a-days-work/

I read all the posts and found that there was really a tough competition. In my opinion, Madhu Rao stands apart.

Other posts I really liked are those written by Neeraj, Annyesha, Preeti, Raksha, Tuppence, Pawan, dilontherocks, Sid Ravan, Nethra and Shalini.
I had shortlisted Neeraj, Preeti, Madhu Rao and Raksha. But as only one had to be chosen, I preferred choose Madhu. Given the title, his story was apt. My good wishes are with him.

And finally, it would be a cliche to say that I enjoyed reading all the remaining posts (including mine). :)
It was a superb reading experience. I'm glad to have read all of them. Once again, I thank all those noble souls who read my post and encouraged me so much.
And Vipul, I know you get this all the time, but still, once again, thanks a million for coming up with such a wonderful and innovative idea - blog-a-ton. You rock!
    All the very best, everyone!
    Cheerios!

    I vote for - Pawan Maruvada; his/her postlink = http://m4maruvada.blogspot.com/2009/12/all-in-days-work.html

I have liked all the other posts... sent in by my fellow blogatonics. But... the rule permits me to vote only once. A whole gamut of emotions and issues have been covered, as we have come to expect from BAT: fun/light-hearted, poignant, like a dream, an earnest prayer, hard-hitting, tear drops, dark, sunshine, short and sweet, surprise, contemplation, signature posts, poetic, patriotic, signs of the times... You name it. Thanks to Vipul and BAT... yours truly have been introduced to some great blogs! Two thumbs up!

PS: I am still unable to visit 3 posts: Niharika/Poor Jokes, The Solitary Writer, and the West Wind/Annyesha Mohanty :( :( :(

  24. I apologize to everyone in whose post I did not comment but I really tried to read everyone.
Among my favourites were the West Wind, Pushpee, Harsha, Madhu, Pawan and Aativas most specifically...

Madhu and Harsha are my recurring favourites just like last time when I had voted for both.

But this time it was difficult to change my vote from Aativas but I have to....

    I participated - All in A Day's work
I vote for - PAWAN; his postlink = ALL IN A DAY'S WORK

I agree with Vipul that sometimes it is the sequence in which we read the write-ups that makes the decision for us.

If there is a second choice for me, it would have to be Aativas, undoubtedly! :)

    I vote for - Harsha; his/her postlink = http://ithinkiknowbut.blogspot.com/2009/12/all-in-days-work.html

My vote goes for Harsha as his post was simple yet elegant. His post has that little element which I have been trying to portray since months, the element being the tender dialogue with the girl the protagonist shares.

Close runner ups include, Madhu, Guria for her crazy post,
Neeraj Shinde's depiction of the 26/11 attacks and finally Roshmi for her different take on the topic :)

    I vote for - PAWAN; his/her postlink = http://m4maruvada.blogspot.com/2009/12/all-in-days-work.html

One of the best with posts i have read with flavours objectivity and rationality. It is bold in its boldness, quite in its quietness .
I also liked posts of Madhu Rao , Rachana Shakyawar, Annyesha Mohanty

  27. I participated - MY POST LINK

I vote for - Shalini; his/her postlink = HER POST LINK

I absolutely enjoyed reading all the posts of Blog-A-Ton..My favorites would be the ones by:
Madhu, Shalini, The West Wind, Karthik and Aativas
My vote went to Shalini because one of the first things I think of when I hear the topic "All in a Day's Work", is the things that can change lives forever in a Day's work. Shalini's work clearly depicted this in beautifully expressed words!

  28. Thank u to all those who have voted for me :)
    Im really happy today!
And a special mention for Roshmi, Mahesh, Shilpa and Guria, my interactions with them inspired me to go a bit further into the realms of fiction :)

And BIG hug to Vipul too, the man behind the curtains and this wonderful idea. Cheers man :)
